11 year old girl died after crash involving a van.
A child has been killed in county Kerry while cycling, after a crash with a van.
It happened yesterday evening in Abbeydorney, near Tralee.
Ben Finnegan reports:
The 11-year-old girl was hit around 3 kilometres from Abbeydorney at around 7.30 last night.
She was seriously injured in the incident and taken to hospital in Tralee where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the van was also hospitalised for his injuries.
The road is currently closed for a technical examination to take place with local diversions in place.
Anyone who was in the area at the time or has dashcam footage is being asked to contact Gardaí.
