A motorcyclist died in the collision at Aghacashlaun near Carrick- on-Shannon.
A man, aged in his late 40s, died when his motorbike collided with a car on the R208 near Drumcong at around 5 o'clock yesterday evening.
The driver and sole occupant of the car, a man in his late 30s, was uninjured.
The road remains closed pending a technical examination this morning, and local diversions are in place.
The man's body was removed to University Hospital Sligo, where a post mortem will take place.
Gardai are appealing to any witnesses to the crash, or those with video or dashcam footage, to come forward to Carrick-on-Shannon Garda Station.
