Anne Rabbitte said she feared for her safety
Two politician in Galway had a bag of cow dung thrown at them last night.
Minister of State for Disability Anne Rabbitte, who is a Fianna Fáil TD for Galway East, tweeted that the bag was thrown at her and a Government colleague.
Ms Rabbitte says "politics has reached a new low", the excrement was flung at her and Fine Gael TD Ciaran Cannon during a public meeting in Gort, Co Galway.
A Garda investigation has been launched into the incident.
The meeting, which was organised by Gort Bio Gas Concern Group, carried on and the man responsible returned to the room unnoticed.
