A man's body has been found in 'unexplained circumstances' in County Cork.
The discovery was made in Mallow last night.
The body of the man was found at the foot of a stairwell in an apartment in Mallow shortly after 7pm yesterday.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted and he was pronounced dead at the scene, which was sealed off overnight.
The dead man was in his 50s and his body has since been removed to Cork University Hospital.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out by Dr. Bolster from the Office of the State Pathologist this morning and the results will help Gardai determine the course of the investigation.
