Brian Ibe has been found guilty of murdering Peter Kennedy in Newbridge
A 23-year-old man has been found guilty of murdering another man in Newbridge nearly five years ago.
Brian Ibe, of no fixed abode but originally of Moore Park in Newbridge, was convicted of killing Peter Kennedy after an assault on April 28th 2020.
He had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, with the defence claiming he was suffering from schizophrenia.
However the jury rejected this defence, and Mr Ibe has been remanded in custody to appear before the court again next month for sentencing.
Kfm will have more on this story tomorrow morning on Kildare Today with Eoin Beatty.
