There's a call for NO repeat to delays in passport turnaround times which happened last year.
Fine Gael TD Michael Ring says the Department of Foreign Affairs must avoid disruption to travellers this summer.
He says unsuccessful applicants are being notified quite late when there is a problem with their application.
