An Independent TD has said people with space on their property should be allowed to build a temporary log cabin for themselves or their family members.
The Rural Independents group says a temporary relaxation of the laws for a period of 5 to 10 years could help ease the housing crisis.
Independent TD Mattie McGrath says if people were allowed construct them on their own land or in gardens, it would lower the waiting list for houses.
