Consultation On Increased Capacity At Dublin Airport Opens

The DAA wants to up the annual cap from 32 to 40 million passengers a year.

A public consultation on plans to increase capacity at Dublin Airport has opened.

The body that regulates aircraft noise, says a scheme to insulate homes affected by the sound of planes, should be extended.

The Aircraft Noise Competent Authority (ANCA) has today launched a public consultation on draft aircraft noise measures associated with this proposed development at Dublin Airport.

The DAA wants to up the annual cap from 32 to 40 million passengers a year.

ANCA has assessed the potential impact of noise from planes and has recommended loosening home insulation eligibility, saying it should be extended to more households, experiencing lower levels of noise, currently not covered by the scheme.

The consultation will run for 14 weeks.
