Cork Crash Claims Young Man's Life, Pushes Yearly Road Toll To 62

It happened on the N25 at Ballyedekin, near Middleton, at around 7:25 this morning.

62 people have now died on the roads in the first 102 days of the year, including five in Kildare.

The latest death was in Cork after a crash involving a car and an articulated lorry.

The driver of the car - a man in his 20s - was pronounced dead at the scene.

A technical exam of the area is being carried out, and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, and those with dash-cam footage, to contact them.
