The Irish Fiscal Advisory Council described Budget 2027 as being "fast and loose"
Despite widespread criticism, the Dáil has voted to pass some of the tax measures announced in yesterday's budget.
It includes the increase in the help-to-buy scheme, the 1 euro extra on cigarettes and the extension of the excise duty cuts on fuel until next February.
The Irish Fiscal Advisory Council which acts at a watchdog on economic issues, described Budget 2027 as being 'fast and loose', saying its increasingly reliant on "high-risk" corporate tax receipts.
The Tánaiste has criticized budget leaks from his Government colleagues.
Last week sources in the coalition briefed the media, describing the negotiations with Jack Chambers as the toughest since austerity.
The Public Expenditure Minister turned down many requests for money from his Ministerial colleagues leading to sharp exchanges with some.
