Dáil To Debate Bill Allowing Credit Unions To Give Mortgages.

It is being tabled by the Independent Group.

Credit unions could be allowed to do mortgages and current accounts, if a new bill gets support in the Dáil.

The Independent Group wants them to be allowed to provide more services to their members.

Its private members motion will be debated in the Dáil this morning.

Independent TD Marian Harkin says credit unions are too restricted - and need to expand.
