Over 3 million drink containers are being returned daily
Operators at the Re-turn deposit scheme say over 3 million drinks containers are being brought back on a daily basis.
Last weekend was a bumper weekend for the organisation with over 7 million returns in 2 days.
The company partnered with six children's charity's in June to support fundraising, in an effort to reduce litter at events, giving people the opportunity to donate bottles and cans at designated Re-turn bins.
Head of Marketing and Communications with Re-turn Niamh Kelly says one can or bottle re-cycled can power a 60 watt bulb for hours.
