Dieticians Now Assessing Quality Of Food Under The Hot School Meal Scheme

This comes as the food was criticised for being 'unhealthy'.

A dietician is now in place, assessing the quality of food being handed out under the hot school meals scheme.

All primary schools are now eligible to avail of the free food, however the menus on offer are being criticised for being beige, stodgy and unhealthy.

Suppliers have been told they can no longer include products which are high in fat, salt and sugar.
