Michael Carter was found guilty last month of one count of rape and 25 sample counts of sexual assault
A 55-year-old man has been jailed for ten-and-a-half years for raping his daughter when she was a child.
The judge in the case praised the dignity and courage of 22-year-old Karen Harkin from Buncrana in Co Donegal, who waived her anonymity to allow her father Michael Carter to be named.
He was found guilty last month of one count of rape and 25 sample counts of sexual assault when his daughter was aged between nine and 12.
The court heard Carter does not accept the jury's verdict.
