The Garda Síochana Ombudsman Commission said it was investigating the incident.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a crash in Monaghan which hospitalised six people.
The crash happened on Monday evening at around 9.30pm at Corraskea in Ballybay.
The six people who were injured and taken to Cavan General Hospital suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Yesterday, the Garda Síochana Ombudsman Commission said it was investigating the incident, and was appealing for witnesses - in particular anyone who had seen a silver 2005 Volkswagen Passat with a blue rear right-door.
A technical examination of the scene took place by collision investigators.
