At around ten past five yesterday evening, a man, armed with a machete, threatened staff at a business in Waterford City.
He then fled the scene on a bicycle via Henrietta Street a short time later with a number of stolen items.
The machete and bike understood to have been used during the incident have been recovered for a technical exam.
Gardaí in Waterford are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.
Any pedestrians or road users who were in the Arundel Square shopping district and surrounding areas, yesterday evening who may have camera footage including dash cam are asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
