The operation was part of an investigation in to organised crime.
€50,000 in cash was recovered from a car on the N4 in Lucan, Co Dublin, yesterday, as part of a garda investigation into organised crime.
Gardaí stopped and searched the car, arresting two people - a man and a woman - on suspicion of involvement in money laundering.
Both were taken to Lucan Garda Station and the man - aged 25 - was charged.
He is due before Blanchardstown District Court today.
The woman - aged 33 - has been released without charge, with a file being prepared for the DPP.
