Gardai believe a review of the Sophie Toscan du Plantier murder file is now "inevitable".

The Irish Independent reports a review will take place once all potential new information is examined following the release of two documentaries in the past month.

The Frenchwoman was found beaten to death near her holiday home outside Schull in West Cork in December 1996.

No one has ever been charged in Ireland with her murder.
