Francis Haugen claims to have a trove of documents proving Facebook knew it's products were fuelling hate.

Fianna Fail Senator Malcolm Byrne has called on the Government to invite Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen to give evidence here.

Ms. Haugen has alleged that the social media giant puts it's 'astronomical profts' over user safety, which the company's denied.

She claims to have a trove of documents proving Facebook knew it's products were fuelling hate.

Senator Malcolm Byrne has made the call in the Sunday Independent.
