Gardai say hate crime is significantly under reported
Incidents of hate crime can now be reported on the Garda website.
All reports will be examined by dedicated members of the Garda Síochána Diversity and Integration Unit.
People will be asked to describe what happened to them and give details about when and where the incident occurred.
Gardai say hate crime is significantly under reported, and this service should help those who have been reluctant to report it in the past.
Assistant Commissioner Paula Hillman says many people are suffering hate crimes in silence
