Industry Body Says Forestry Is In Crisis And Thousands Of Jobs Are At Risk.

More than 100 representatives will protest outside Leinster House today.

The forestry industry is in crisis and is facing significant job losses.

That according to the Social, Economic, Environmental Forestry Association of Ireland - which is seeking direct intervention from the Taoiseach to resolve the backlog of licenses urgently needed to fell trees.

More than 100 representatives from the private Irish forestry sector will protest outside Government buildings in response to the crisis facing the industry.

Teige Ryan of the association says it is unacceptable that we are importing timber into Ireland
