The remains were found yesterday afternoon.
A post mortem is to be carried out on the body of a man found in Dublin.
The discovery was made in the Grand Canal at Dolphins Barn yesterday afternoon.
His body was recovered from the water and brought to the City Mortuary where the post mortem will be carried out.
The results will direct the course of the investigation.
