Spending in pubs rose by 28 per cent last month, peaking on June 24th, the day of the Dublin Pride Parade.
Donegal, Mayo and Laois saw big pub spend increases during the June Bank Holiday weekend with a 20 per cent increase in hotel spend.
The AIB Spend Trend figures revealed a slowdown in people booking airline travel compared to May with those aged 65 and over accounting for the biggest decrease down 10 per cent.

The data was compiled from 70 million debit and credit card transactions in store and online during June 2023.
