The investment includes nine different research sectors
Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, and Kildare North TD, James Lawless, has today announced an investment of €17 million to support nine key infrastructure projects through the Research Ireland Infrastructure Programme.
The programme is designed to ensure that Irish researchers can access the specialised equipment needed to compete on the global stage.
One such investment is for MeDiNet who will provide shared national facilities for the designing and testing of new medical devices, reducing reliance on animal testing.
The investment will include allocations towards nine key areas in total, including AI, medicine, high-speed communication analysis, atomic etching and advanced imaging for sample preparation.
