A man died in the incident, in 2015.
Limerick City and County Council has been fined €75,000 over a fatal incident at a machinery yard more than six years ago.
It happened in Newcastlewest on April 14th, 2015.
The employee was passing through an automatic gate when it closed on him.
The fine was handed down at a sitting of Limerick Circuit Criminal Court yesterday.
