It is understood the deceased was married with children.
Gardaí said they responded to reports of a workplace accident in the Castletown area shortly after 12.30pm on Tuesday afternoon.
The man in his thirties, who is yet to be named, is reported to have suffered fatal injuries.
Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority are investigating, and the local coroner has been notified.

It's the second incident on a farm in three days. An investigation was launched after a man was seriously injured while working on his farm in Co Cavan at the weekend.
He was air-lifted to hospital in Dublin after emergency services were called to the scene at Butlerbsbridge, shortly before 11am on Saturday morning.
The Health and Safety Authority are also investigating this incident.
