The incident happened in Shankhill on Thursday afternoon.
A man in his 80s has died in a car crash in Dublin.
The single vehicle collision happened on Corbawn Lane in Shankhill at 1.30 this afternoon.
Gardai say the male driver who was the only occupant of the car was critically injured.
The man was taken to St Vincent's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The road is closed for a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
