Gardai say PSNI colleagues made the arrest yesterday.
The body of the Romanian woman who was aged in her 20's was found at an apartment on the Dock Road at half 1 on Tuesday afternoon.

Gardaí say detectives from the PSNI Serious Crime branch arrested the 26-year-old man yesterday. He's being held for questioning in Belfast.
Meanwhile the Garda Technical Bureau is still examining two crime scenes in Limerick.
Gardaí are also continuing to appeal to anyone with information to come forward and say they remain in close contact with their PSNI colleagues in connection with the investigation.
