Man Hospitalised After Stolen Rubbish Van Crashes Into Sutton Level Crossing

The small bin truck eventually came to a stop after driving into railway barriers in Sutton yesterday evening.

Part of the DART line had to be suspended yesterday after a stolen rubbish van crashed into a level crossing in north Dublin.

It was taken from Parliament Street while a council worker was emptying a bin and was later followed by Gardaí after failing to stop at a checkpoint on Ormond Quay.

The small bin truck eventually came to a stop after driving into railway barriers in Sutton yesterday evening.

A man who was driving the van was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
