Gardai are appealing for witnesses
A man is in a critical condition in hospital following a serious assault in Cork City.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to this attack which happened on Oliver Plunkett Street between 6.00 and 7:30pm.
The victim, who is in his 40s, sustained head injuries after being head-butted and falling to the ground.
He's being treated in Cork University Hospital and is in a critical condition.
No arrests have been made at this stage.
Anyone who was in the vacinity of Oliver Plunkett Street at the time and may have seen anything is asked to come forward.
Gardai are all keen to access any video or dash cam footage motorists many have of the Grand Parade/Oliver Plunkett Street area.
