A man in his 40s has been rescued off the coast of Co Louth, after spending over 10 hours at sea.
The man was seen on his inflatable raft at Whitestown in Carlingford at around lunchtime yesterday.
Later in the afternoon, a fisherman raised the alarm when he spotted the raft abandoned at sea.
Following a multi-agency search operation the man was located at 10 past 10 last night and taken by air ambulance to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin for treatment.
