RTÉ had rejected the assertion it is not completing the required reforms quickly enough
The Communications Minister says he's had a "positive meeting" with RTE's Chair and Director General today.
Terence O'Rourke and Kevin Bakhurst raised concerns about Government funding with Patrick O' Donovan, and provided assurances on the delivery of reforms and their timing.
It comes as a day after the minister said that RTÉ would receive €240 million for 2027, which was €20 million less than the €260 million envisaged.
RTÉ had totally rejected the assertion it is not completing the required reforms quickly enough.
The Department of Communications has been summoned to an Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee hearing over funding cuts to the broadcaster.
The Dáil and Seanad's public spending watchdog wants to know why the Government deviated from the planned bailout of the broadcaster.
