Over the next number of months there will be a restructuring of the company
Meta is to further reduce its headcount by 10,000 across the world over the coming months.
The company's chief executive shared the information with staff and on his Facebook page this afternoon.
Mark Zuckerberg said that 2023 will be the year of efficiency in Meta.
Today he said the goals are to make the company better and to improve its financial performance.
Over the next number of months there will be a restructuring of the company and a further reduction in its headcount, with a focus initially on those working in recruitment.
Further details of roles impacted will be communicated in April and May.
Some 10,000 jobs will go and the recruitment of 5,000 people will be put on ice.
Meta plans to lay off around 10,000 employees and close about 5,000 additional open roles.
