Beef shipments to China had been suspended due to an isolated case of atypical BSE
Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue TD, and Minister of State, Martin Heydon TD, have confirmed the resumption of access for Irish beef exports to China.
This follows high level discussions between Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and the Chinese premier, Li Qiang today.
Beef shipments to China had been initially suspended in November 2023 following the confirmation of an isolated case of atypical BSE.
Following todays talks, Heydon hailed today's news as a positive development for the Irish beef sector.
