People are being urged to plan their movements over the long weekend.
A campaign from Drinkaware, is warning about the dangers of driving the next day.
77% of adults agree driving the morning after drinking is just as dangerous as drink driving, however only 65% of those under 35 actually recognise the risk.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Dearbhla O'Brien, CEO with Drinkaware, says that the message of drink driving can never be made enough:
"If it makes a difference to one life, that's what's key."
"It's a constant educating, learning and reminding the public that by just simple steps such as understanding where you're safe to drive the morning after and drinking alcohol, so you can ensure a positive experience for all on the road."
"As we all know, it's on the bank holiday weekend when we tend to see the most accidents."
