Over 14,000 Covid Cases Confirmed Today

The number of people in ICU today has dropped.

Some 14,549 new cases of Covid19 have been confirmed today by the Department of Health

There are 5,962 PCR-confirmed cases, while 8,587 people registered a positive antigen test through the HSE portal.

There are 1,605 patients in hospital with the virus, which is a decrease of 19 since yesterday.

The number of people in ICU now stands at 50, which is down by 4.

Professor of Infectious Diseases Jack Lambert says the increase in covid case numbers is a natural consequence of deciding to end mandatory mask use:
