The motorway closed northbound between junction 9 Inchicore/N7 and junction 7 Palmerstown/N4.
Emergency services are at the scene.
Diversions are in place, and people are advised to avoid the area.
Gardaí are encouraging all road users on the N7 northbound to try and avoid the area or take alternative routes if possible.
