It comes as a new survey shows low usage, as the bank holiday weekend approaches.
The survey outlined that 16% of people used one whilst cooking burgers, while 10% used one for sausages and 26% for chicken breasts.
Speaking on Kildare Today, CEO of Safefood, Joanne Uí Chrualaioch said it's important that people use meat thermometers:
"A meat thermometer gives you security that the meat is cooked through, and also it helps you have the most tasty meat, because you don't overcook it."
She also highlights that meat thermometers aren't just for professionals:
"Some people have told us that they felt like meat thermometers were a tool that only professionals use, but we're here to encourage people that everyone should use them when cooking meats."
