Electric Ireland is the latest to join an ongoing list of providers raising their prices.
Electric Ireland will hike residential energy tariffs from July 1st, lifting electricity prices by 8% and gas by 7.7%.
That adds about €138 a year to a typical electricity bill and €117 to gas.
The ESB-owned supplier, serving 1.1 million homes, cites Middle East–related volatility pushing up wholesale costs.
It’s the first increase since October 2022, after three cuts in between.
The move comes after recent rises by PrePayPower, Energia, and SSE Airtricity.
Electric Ireland says supports are available, including flexible payment plans and PAYG options.
