Remains Of Matthew Healy Laid To Rest Today In Cork

Last night the six year old's mother was charged with his murder and remanded in custody

Earlier today, Matthew Healy's remains were brought by his family from his home in Watergrasshill, where he had reposed since Monday, to the Church of the Immaculate Conception for the mass.

Lego cars, jellies and a cycling helmet are among the mementos brought to the alter during the funeral.

Matthew Healy's father says his son touched the lives of those who knew him, and he will be remembered forever.

James Healy told the congregation at the Church of the Immaculate Conception about Matthew's love of the outdoors, music and video games.

He thanked the emergency services, staff at University Hospital Waterford, and the community for its support.
