A group representing rural communities says there's a lack of consultation from Government parties on issues like turf cutting, rewetting farmland and transport.
The Irish Rural Association held a protest outside the Green Party convention in Athlone.
It wants more open discussion and more communication from Environment Minister and Green Party Leader Eamon Ryan.
