A group representing rural communities says there's a lack of consultation from Government parties on issues like turf cutting, rewetting farmland and transport.
The Irish Rural Association held a protest outside the Green Party convention in Athlone.
It wants more open discussion and more communication from Environment Minister and Green Party Leader Eamon Ryan.
Spokesperson Jackie Flannery says some climate measures taken by government would put people in rural Ireland out of work:
