Gardai and the Fire Brigade remain at the scene
Several individuals have been arrested amid disturbances at the former Crown Paints factory site in Coolock, Dublin, slated for development for International Protection applicants.
The Garda Public Order Unit was deployed, and incapacitant spray was used.
Earlier this afternoon, several fires were set, and machinery was torched.
Minister for Justice Helen McEntee stated that those involved in the disturbances would face the "full rigors of the law."
She expressed her dismay and said she had been assured by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris that "everything will be done to bring those responsible to justice."
Gardaí described the situation as a "public order incident" and redirected traffic, including around Malahide Road.
Dublin Fire Brigade has been called to the scene.
