Temperatures could hit 26 degrees in parts of Ireland.
The recent spell of hot weather is set to end this evening.
Temperatures are likely to reach 25 or 26 degrees in most places again today.
But Cathal Nolan, from Ireland's Weather Channel, says it will be much cooler in the following days.
Thunderstorms are tricky to forecast as they can be very localized but a high risk of thunderstorms over the weekend. Some torrential downpours locally with spot flooding. Hoping that the @DDFIrishOpen in @mountjuliet might escape but certainly a high risk. pic.twitter.com/FtHQlIJv2l
