A taxi driver was punched, kicked and robbed in Leixlip in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Gardaí are investigating after four men got into a taxi in Dublin city centre shortly before 2am.
One was dropped in Kilcock, while the remaining three travelled on to Leixlip.
Once in the Rinawade area, the front-seat passenger allegedly punched the driver and grabbed cash from the vehicle.
The two rear passengers then kicked the driver before all three fled on foot.
Speaking to Kfm News, Garda Marc Connolly said the driver was shaken but not seriously injured.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses - particularly a man in his 20s who was in the area at the time - and for anyone with dash-cam footage.
The suspects are described as Irish, aged 20 to 25, and speaking with Dublin accents.
The front passenger is further described as having a "round face" and "short dark hair".
