The teenager was 17 when the incident occurred.
A teenager charged with raping a woman in a car in Dublin has been denied bail.
The 19 year old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at the Dublin Children's Court because the offence happened when he was a minor.
The now-19 year old man is accused of raping a woman inside a car in South Dublin on a date in March of 2020.
Detective Garda Mark Costello objected to bail due to the seriousness of the case and alleged intimidation.
The detective said, within a day of the alleged incident, a witness had liquid poured through their letterbox, and there was a threat of arson.
He agreed with the defence solicitor this was over two and a half years ago, but added Gardaí have also investigated later threats and online messages.
None of them have, as of yet, resulted in charges, but the detective says they are being considered by the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The defence also asked the judge to note the accused denies the charge, and said the man would abide by conditions and have no contact with witnesses on any platform.
However, Judge Kelly refused bail and remanded him in custody.
The Director of Public Prosecutions has directed "trial on indictment" in the Central Criminal Court.
