Operations will cease at the Wyeth Nutrition factory in Askeaton in 2026.
The government is being called on to repurpose the Nestlé plant in Limerick to salvage impending job losses.
The Swiss company yesterday announced it will cease operations at the Wyeth Nutrition factory in Askeaton in 2026.
Over 540 people are currently employed at the facility.
It manufactures infant formula products for markets in greater China and Asia.
Independent Limerick TD Richard O'Donoghue thinks the plant should be retained as a manufacturing facility.
