Today Is The Last Day For New Pandemic Unemployment Payment Applications.

220,000 people are currently receiving the payment.

It's the final day for people to apply to receive the Pandemic Unemployment Payment.

The scheme will close to new entrants from tomorrow, after being extended by an extra seven days due to the delay in reopening indoor dining.

The payment, introduced last year to help workers who lost their jobs due to the pandemic, currently has over 220,000 recipients.

Just over 221,000 people are due to receive the Pandemic Unemployment Payment this week, a decrease of nearly 6,900 on last week
