HSE sees increase in young people needing a Covid 19 tests
The HSE says they are re seeing an increase in the number of young people being referred for Covid-19 tests.
Over a thousand new cases were reported yesterday for the first time in more than five months.
There are 73 patients with the virus in hospital and 22 in ICU.
Health officials are urging unvaccinated people not to meet indoors this weekend over fears about the Delta variant.
HSE National Lead for Testing and Tracing, Niamh O'Beirne, says the number of young people needing a test is rising:
