Andy Moran will be ratified as the new manager of the Mayo senior footballers at the next meeting of the county board.
The Ballaghderreen clubman will succeed Kevin McStay.
Moran - who won Footballer of the Year award in 2017 - was a coach with Monaghan last season and also spent three years as manager of Leitrim.
His backroom team will include his former Mayo teammate Colm Boyle and the ex-Derry manager Paddy Tally.
