Speculation that the Kilkenny native and former U20 manager had been in contention for the Kilkenny job
Kildare GAA confirmed today that Brian Dowling will remain in charge of the Kildare Senior Hurling Team for 2027.
There had been some speculation that he was in contention for the vacant Kilkenny senior hurling position but that was filled last night by Henry Shefflin.
Dowling has presided over a very successful term as Kildare manager.
The panel won promotion from Division 2A to Division 1B last year, having previously won the Joe McDonagh Cup, which qualified them for the Leinster championship, and before that the Christy Ring Cup.
They will compete in Division 1B of the league again next year.
